China for New Year

I hope that you all had very happy Christmas' and jolly New Year's.

I was in China for New Year's which although I have done this before, this year it was a little bit different. In the past, my experiance of New Year ie 31st December in China has been rather non existant, as the Chinese celebrate the Chinese New Year for about 2 weeks sometime between late January and early February. However, this year for the first time I think, China announced a public holiday for 3 days from 1st-3rd January to celebrate the western New Year. So the Chinese now seem to celebrate 2 New Years! And why not?!
